60 Girls Reportedly Abducted in Borno State

The twitter handle of the Nigerian Television Authority, is reporting that sicty girls were kidnapped by insurgence in Kummabza village, in Damboa LGA in Borno state.
About sixty girls between the ages of 3-12 years have been abducted by insurgents in Kummabza village of Damboa local government area of Borno State. Reports from the area indicates that the insurgents also killed about thirty people and destroyed property worth millions of naira during an attack on the community, residents of the village are taking refuge in Lassa and Gulak in Adamawa State. They appealed to the authorities to provide them with shelter and relief materials to reduce their sufferings.                                                                                             whayasay?

Scientists Reveals Possible Cure For Deadly Ebola Virus

A plant has been found to halt the deadly Ebola virus in its tracks in laboratory tests, scientists have said. They used a compound from Garcinia kola (Bitter Kola), a plant commonly eaten in West Africa. Compounds from the plant have also proved effective against some strains of flu. If the anti-Ebola compound proves successful in animal and human trials, it will be the first medicine to successfully treat the virus that causes Ebola haemorrhagic fever – an often-fatal condition. The discovery was announced at the 16th International Botanical Congress in St Louis in the US. Traditional origins Dr Maurice Iwu, who set up and heads the Bioresources Development and Conservation Programme, led the research.
